Wallace Woods – Covington, KY
One of the very first things you will notice when you enter Wallace Woods is the the absolutely gorgeous homes. I will never forget the first time I stumbled upon Wallace Woods, my exact thoughts were “Oh my gosh , what is this place?”. The more I explored the more I discovered of this thriving community. The neighborhood is filled with beautiful architecture and is so conveniently located.
Being so close to Downtown, Cincinnati this neighborhood offers easy access to hundreds of restaurants, bars, and shops. Not to mention, there are also several great places right there in Covington, KY. Living in Wallace woods gives you the quaint and quiet neighborhood feel while still offering you all of the benefits and entertainment of living in a city.
Surprised by Wallace Woods
I grew up in NKY, but had never been down to Wallace Woods. One day, I drove down here, and I was like, “Oh my gosh, these houses are amazing! They’re incredible. What, what is this place?” And I started looking into them and discover there’s this whole thriving community down here, kind of the South end of Covington that I never knew about.
Just look, I mean, look at the architecture of these homes down here. Some of these are just absolutely beautiful. And so, I did a little discovery and found out that this used to be the Wallace Farm and it was in the 1890s when the farm, which was at then the Southern end of Covington was kind of broken up. And you have these, you have some of these really large, beautiful homes, Victorian or Italianate. You have some Colonial style architecture down here, and then, then you have some apartments and you have some other smaller homes.
Cost of Living in Wallace Woods, KY
You may be thinking that because there are so many large, historic homes in the area that you will not be able to afford to live here. While there are some very expensive homes in the neighborhood, there are are also several multi families that are rented out. This makes living in Wallace Woods a possibility for people of any income.
The Wallace Woods neighborhood has a great feel in terms of, you know, in terms of socioeconomic diversity. And, there’s a little gap. If you know anything about Covington, you’ve got the Covington that’s right down by the river and kind of the central business district there. And then you have Mainstrasse, which a lot of people know about. And then there’s kind of a gap. And you’re about essentially 20 blocks down to get down here to Wallace Woods where there’s this really just thriving community.
And so it’s, it’s a great place for first time home buyers. It’s a great place. What you really need to check out is dig into the neighborhood association. And there’s a really strong community feel here, people that want to give back and invest into the community itself. So if you want to be close to downtown, if you want to be close to work centers of Cincinnati and, but still have kind of a great neighborhood, Cincinnati, feel you definitely gotta check out Wallace Woods in Covington, Kentucky.
