This week, I got to show homes for sale in Cincinnati OH to some friends of mine looking to buy a new home. I decided to take a little footage while we were out and about and make a quick video. It never hurts to throw in some beats by Andrew Applepie either.
When buying a home, especially with young families, it’s so fun watching the kids run around and get excited! Everything is new, and there are so many things about the house to explore. It’s a real joy to watch the kids play and watch the parents imagine themselves in the home.
Memories From Moving As A Kid
I remember when I moved to Florence, KY in 1988 with my family. I was born in Kalamazoo, MI, and both of my parents were from Northern MI. My Dad was a pilot with Delta, and we moved down to Cincinnati back when it became a hub for the airline.
I’ll never forget the emotions of that move. I was both very sad and very excited at the same time. Michigan was all I knew – my friends, our church, our house. And now, we were packing everything into this big moving truck and hauling off to Kentucky. I was 6 years old, and I remember crying my eyes out.
But then, we got to our new house. It was a new build, so everything had that new build smell. You could still smell the cut lumber, the drywall, the fresh paint and the carpet. We were also one of the first homes in our new Fischer subdivision off of Pleasant Valley Road. It was incredibly exciting, but again, it was hard.
It’s the same today. Whenever you are moving homes, there are generally mixed emotions. You are excited about the new life in front of you, but you are sad about what you may be leaving behind. For young families with small children, the emotions can be a bit extreme. I get it. Ha ha. My 5 year old is like the incredible Hulk when it comes to his emotions. There’s no middle ground with him.
