What do I need to know if I’m moving to Cincinnati? That’s what we’re going to talk about. Cincinnati- Is It Just Land?
I’ve got to tell a pretty hilarious story that just came up recently. I’m a huge Bengals fan. I’ve lived in Cincinnati for 30 years. You can have pity on me as a Bengals fan, but Ho day we’ve got Joe burrow, we’re going all the way. And we just drafted the NFL draft, just finished. We drafted Ja’marr Chase the fifth overall pick in the draft. Number one wide receiver off the board from LSU, a former teammate of Joe burrow, who is our new franchise quarterback. Who’s really, really good. And, Ja’marr chase, this guy here recently for kind of a rookie walk-through day, whatever, not like OTAs or whatever it is. And he took a scooter around downtown and then met with the press and told us his quote was basically.
Ja’marr: “I liked the little view they had so far. This is, this is not what I thought Cincinnati was going to be. So I’m actually liking this so far.”
Press: “Hold up. What did you think Cincinnati was going to be?”
Ja’marr: “I actually thought since then that was going to be a bunch of lands. Like I’m all over here. We’re just going to be a bunch of lands. I didn’t realize we had so many buildings, tall buildings, Hills, like trains, like so much is it’s down here. You know? So I was actually surprised”
Just killing me!, Ja’marr Chase.. I just find this story hilarious. And I think it’s probably like what most people think of when they think of Cincinnati or moving to Cincinnati. They don’t know or you don’t know, you might be coming to Cincinnati. You might have a new job here. And you’re like, what the heck is it? Is it just land? Is it just miles and miles of open land? And, gosh, it makes me laugh. But no, you might actually be surprised. Like Ja’marr Chase. We actually have buildings here. We have museums, we have art, we have businesses, we have culture, we have a river, we have great restaurants, we have great music. We’ve got a great beer scene. We’ve got professional sports teams, three of them. And you’re on one of them, Ja’marr Chase.
You might be thinking of moving to Cincinnati and you’re like, I don’t know what’s going on there. Hey guys, we got all kinds of videos on this channel trying to introduce you to the city and give you a feel for the neighborhoods where you might want to live. What school districts you might want to be in for your family, or maybe you’re going to homeschool. Who knows? Maybe you want to live out in the country and get a bunch of lands. Just like Ja’marr Chase. Maybe you want to live right downtown in the urban core. One of the things I like about Cincinnati is it’s kind of like a big small city. It’s small, and that you get to know the people that are living here. It’s big. And that we’ve got a lot of city amenities and I get it as someone who’s lived here for 30 years.
Why I Love Cincinnati!
I understand that I’m in fly-over country. I understand that people in LA and New York look down on Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky. I get it. And, I understand that they don’t think about this place. They don’t know this place exists. They don’t know what the people are like. Fine, no problem. I kind of wear it as a badge of honor. Now I get that national media book, both on the sports side. And on the news side, they don’t want to write stories about Cincinnati. They don’t care about Cincinnati. And if you look on basically any charge of anything in the nation, whether it’s like population, whether it’s the cost of living though, that’s really low here. Or just like jobs or opportunities. Cincinnati is average. It’s like right in the middle of the list, basically on everything. Well, I love it here. This place is great.
If you’re moving to Cincinnati, you might come to find out that it’s actually pretty sweet. You might be just like Ja’marr Chase and be like, wow, it’s not going to be that bad.
